The benefits of the GLP-1 receptor agonists are now recognised to extend beyond improving glycaemic control and effecting weight loss in patients with type 2 diabetes. Take chronic kidney disease for example. In this panel discussion, Nephrologist, Professor Genie Pedagogos and Endocrinologist, Professor Richard MacIsaac will be asked about the evidence for and role of GLP-1 receptor agonists in the prevention and management of kidney disease in patients with type 2 diabetes and will provide practical advice for clinicians wanting to offer this treatment option to their diabetic patients.
